Photographs have always been important to me. I have fond memories as a teenager listening to my Great Aunt Emma tell stories about family members whose pictures hung throughout her home. Whenever I visit my family in Wisconsin I never tire of looking over a shoebox filled with snapshots of our family and paging through my parents wedding album.

I took a sabbatical from teaching in Maine over 21 years ago. A series of coincidences led me to scenic Port Townsend, Washington. I'm reminded daily why people come from all over the county come to visit our community here on the Olympic Peninsula. My constant companions are my dogs Max and Ruby, both were adopted from the Humane Society of Jefferson County where I volunteer weekly.

I'm a member of Professional Photographers of America, Wedding Portrait Photographers International and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I attend workshops and weekly webinars that allow me to gain information on the latest products available for wedding and portrait photography. These educational experiences enhance my professional growth and the services I can offer clients who come to Deja View Photography for their portrait session.

As a Photographer I'm afraid there may be a whole generation that won't be able to reminisce over old snapshots, as I have, because images just aren't being printed. Another part of this scenario is that images may be gone forever when a cell phone is lost or stolen. Often the family computer crashes and goes to the landfill with unretrievable, precious family images still on the hard drive. Those family memories are lost forever.
