I picked up a camera several years ago after the sudden death of my partner. At that time I found photographing everything around me helped me to regain a sense of passion in my life. I started my own business, Deja View Photography and began selling cards and prints at the Port Townsend Farmers Market. About two years ago I opened my Port Townsend studio and began focusing on portraits. I enjoy working with people and feel my life experiences have made me a better portrait photographer. I started by photographing pets and scenery and now offer children, families, seniors and wedding photography.
As an ex-Elementary School Teacher continuing education has always been a priority for me and an absolute in the changing world of photography. As a self-taught photographer I'm always a student, always pushing myself to learn everything I can about photography.
I'm a member of Professional Photographers of America, Wedding Portrait Photographers International and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I just returned from my third Wedding Portrait Photographers International conference in Las Vegas. This week long conference allowed me access to the latest products available for wedding and portrait photography along with attending workshops with incredible photographers from around the world. It was an exciting educational experience that has enhanced my professional growth and the services I can offer clients who come to Deja View Photography for their portrait session.
