There are at least 3 things that I feel make me a good Photographer. First I hate having my photo taken, I would rather have a root canal. I’m uncomfortable in front of the camera, worrying about my wrinkles and my double-chin. But behind the camera, I’m able to put my clients at ease capturing approachable and friendly images they are happy with and enjoy sharing. All purchased portraits are edited and enhanced so everyone looks their best.
Secondly, I understand the value of a photo. After my partner died suddenly of a heart attack, I found I had trouble seeing his face without looking at a photo. As time has passed his photos have become priceless to me. That is why I especially enjoy taking family photos and capturing a unique moment in time for my clients.
Third I love working with people. For several years I have worked as a Hospital Dietitian/Department Head and later became an Elementary Teacher. I taught in Maine before moving to Port Townsend in 1990. I also had my own basket-making business, selling and teaching basket-making. In 1995 I started Deja View Photography. Today I specialize in professional headshots, families, and event photography.

I love the connections I make with my clients. Over the years these friendships have often led to photographing celebratory family events like weddings, family portraits, reunions, and anniversaries.
I'm currently photographing headshots and family photos following safe Covid guidelines. You can reach me at Deja View Photography (360) 385-2662 to schedule a session at my Port Townsend studio or on-location. You can also email me at [email protected]
